The Curtain Jerkers #3.10

Welcome to Season 3 Episode 10 of The Curtain Jerkers, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that super kicks pro wrestling in the indies.

This week, your host, Token Tom Clark, and our panel of wrestling analysts, including Steve Mesa and The Viking, Brian Burton, at Project Entertainment Network are getting a little cloudy.

That’s an intentional pun, as we shine the Indy Spotlight on north east veteran worker, the One Hit Wonder himself, Cloudy. Cloudy talks about his history, how he’s grown over the years, and, of course, he endures the Viking Questions like the multi-time champ he is.

But that’s not all. We’ve got the news, which means we’re talking about Paige and Alberto El Patron. Then, Viking has the indy power rankings, Steve spoils the Mae Young Classic’s first round for us and Tom tells the IWC what he thinks of their trolls!

It’s another huge show from your host, Token Tom Clark, and our panel of wrestling analysts, including freelance journalist Steve Mesa and our very own mythical Viking, Brian Burton.

We don’t shine the Indy Spotlight this week, and of course there’s Curtain Jerkers Players shenanigans to go along with why we don’t.

We’ve also got our predictions for the WWE Network PPV event, Great Balls of Fire, Steve talks about NJPW’s American invasion over the Independence Day weekend holiday, Alberto El Patron runs his mouth at Slammiversary, Perry Saturn returns and, of course, Viking has the Indy Power Rankings for you.

But that’s not all. We also review Netflix’s latest comedy drama, GLOW, a fictionalized account of the 80’s all woman wrestling show, and Steve has the best matches and workers for the first half of 2017!

We’ve also got the news, and there’s a lot of it, from WWE2K18 to the Mae Young Classic, we’ll dig into all of it including an NJPW G1 Special preview. Steve reviews the NXT book and gives us his best matches and workers of June. And, of course, Viking has the Indy Power Rankings.

That sucks for Steve, because we’re sure he wanted to talk to former WWE and ECW superstar Colin Delaney in our Indy Spotlight. Colin is a long time veteran on the the eastern wrestling indies, and we talk about his ties to some of the big names on the current WWE roster, like Luke Harper, and those the WWE are measuring, like Dalton Castle. Not to mention Colin has a match this weekend with CZW’s Chainsaw Joe Gacy at Xcite wrestling’s card on Saturday June 3rd.

We’ve also got our predictions for the WWE Network Event Extreme Rules, and we get into some upcoming cards in the Northeast, Viking has the Indy Power Rankings from last week and we’ll get into some of the news that’s out there, including the WWE’s plummeting ratings.

The Curtain Jerkers #100

Welcome to Episode 100 of The Curtain Jerkers, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that super kicks pro wrestling in the centennials.

It’s a special event like none other, albeit bittersweet. Host Token Tom Clark and company start it off remembering the loses to the East Coast indy scene in Wayne Van Dyke and Glen Post. Unfamiliar with Glen? He’s was the first and only wrestling manager in history with Spina Bifida. We talk to those close to Glen in the indy business, Keith Zimmer and Axel Lennox.

Then Steve Mesa, The Viking Brian Burton and Producer Dan Canastra take a trip down memory lane as we remember 8 and half years of podcasting; from the 2CWFancast to the Main Event to finally to the Curtain Jerkers.

With special guests Dewey Brooks and Pete Wrightsman of the 2CWFancast and our brother in arms Brodie Kratz, who returns to get questioned by the Viking.

But that’s not all, in this special double sized edition of the Curtain Jerkers!

And who better to kick that off than our good friend, Hybrid Sean Carr. Sean may very well be the top indy guy in the Northeast right now, and he joins us to talk about his work ethic and history in the business.

But that’s not all.

With less WWE talk there is more of a focus on the up and coming guys we love, even in the news. We heard Billy Corgan bought NWA, Matt Gold experiences Curtain Jerkers shenanigans as tries to find the naked pictures of Charlotte Flair, Steve fills us in on Ronin 14, and Viking has the Indy Power Rankings for us.
