Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 10

Welcome to Volume 3 Chapter 10 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection. And this week that connection plain sucks.

Hosts Tom Clark, Mr. Scott, Smoking Walt Ball and Azriel Mordecai lament a fallen hero this week as we remember George Romero.

Some call George A. Romero the Godfather of modern horror. It’s no doubt that along side partner (and guest on the Necrocasticon a year ago this week!) John Russo, he gave birth to the modern zombie craze. But Romero was much more than a zombie auteur. He was a Renaissance man, a pioneer in independent film making who’s contributions to the horror and fantasy genres cannot be ignored. We’ll touch on all of that and more as we remember his legacy.

But that’s not all. We also remember Dave Z of Adrenaline Mob, who also died tragically this weekend. And we find out about Martin Landau, as well, with breaking news as we were recording this chapter.

How could we remember George Romero without talking to a person who wouldn’t be making films had it not been for the path blazed by Romero? We can’t. Therefor, earlier in the week before this tragic news hit, Tom had an opportunity to talk with Western NY film maker Adam Steigert about his upcoming movie FANG! Adam recently finishing principal photography on the extreme horror werewolf film and he joins us to talk about it and tell us how the story came about.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 9

Welcome to Volume 3 chapter 9 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Your host, horror writer Tom Clark is joined, as always, by our panel of horror and metal experts at Project Entertainment Network. This time around Mr. Scott, Smoking Walt Ball and Bob Overlord of Yonkers, err, we mean Azriel Mordecai, are digging up what has impressed so far, this year, in metal and horror.

We’re half way through 2017, and other than killing off our family and friends, the year has had some stellar moments in genre fiction and metal music. With that in mind, we’re going to fill you in on the crème de la crème of what 2017 has given us thus far; from Get Out to Ararat to Iced Earth and American Gods and everything else in between.

But that’s not all. Walt reviews the latest from Stone Sour, or does he? Az has double dose of bizarreness in the mortuary and Mr Scott gives the Axe handle to a bass monster, and we remember a few of 2017’s recent celebrity victims.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 8

Welcome to Volume 3, Chapter 8 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection. This week you host, writer Tom Clark and our panel of metal and horror experts present gloves and get mashed up on you. How so, you ask?

Well, first off, we’re missing Mr. Scott this week. Secondly, Smoking Walt Ball and Azriel Mordecai welcome our convention friend Billy Effner of Engraveyard Studios and his pal Mark Phillips from Nightmares Unlimited to talk with us about their latest project, the Freddy Kruger Pinhead mashup glove you may have seen on the horror websites last week.

We talk about how the glove came to be, the other projects Mark and Billy are working on, as well as digging into the secrets of success in the horror community, namely being nice to others and passing that help forward. It’s an epic 90 some odd minute chat you don’t want to miss with a couple guys that are on the rise!

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 7

Welcome to volume 3 chapter 7 of the Necrocasticon where we blend horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection. This week Mr. Scott is stepping into the Host’s seat as Tom Clark is off on assignment at Salt City Comic Con!

But have no fear, Scott, Smoking Walt Ball & Azriel Mordecai found a suitable fill in for Tom this week in the form of sideshow freak and pro wrestler Lenn Oddity. This is appropriate, as our panel of metal and horror experts talk about body horror this week.

But that’s not all. Walt reviews the latest from Iced Earth, Scott gives the raises the axe handle high in remembrance of a person that was the core of their circle of friends, as well as giving the blade to someone else that deserves it. Az gets all mashed up in the mortuary and finally, Mr. Scott talks to upstate NY vocalist Josh “Ripper” Wheeler from the death metal band Demonic Reign.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 6

Welcome to Volume 3 Chapter 6 of The Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Your host, writer Tom Clark is joined by our panel of metal and horror experts at Project Entertainment Network. Musician Mr. Scott, Smoking Walt Ball and musician and artist Azriel Mordecai are getting extreme this week, and we’re not talking about snowboarding in June, oh no.

When is EXTREME too extreme? We’re going to talk about movies, books and metal that may have gone over the line. From Edward Lee’s Headers to a Serbian Film. From Doom to Death metal and all the pinks and hardcore variants in between.

But that’s not all. We also review a movie that’s making some Buzz lately… Milko Davis’ TSUNAMBEE, Walt has some Anathema in the smoker, Az gets wonderful and Goes to the mortuary and Mr. Scott gives the AXE to a person that needs it… someone who hasn’t had a hit song in 20 years, so every year he has to say or do something stupid to make himself relevant again. And no, it’s surprisingly not Ted Nugent.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 5

Welcome to Volume 3 Chapter 5 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection. Your host, writer and journalist Tom Clark, is joined, as always, by our panel of metal & horror experts: Musician Mr. Scott, metal connoisseur & horror enthusiast Walt Ball and Musician & artist Azriel Mordecai.

We’re going behind the scenes and getting nosy this week as we tell you what documentaries on horror and metal you should be watching or should have watched already. From Quiet Riot to A Nightmare on Elmstreet, there are dozens of great behind the scenes documentaries on horror movies & metal acts. But it’s the documentaries on real murders that are often the scariest, like Paradise Lost and even the JFK assassination film we’ve all seen.
Then, film critic and our brother from The Curtain Jerkers, Steve Mesa, joins us to review IT COMES AT NIGHT, Trey Edward Shults’ film starring Joel Edgerton. Whats it about? We’ve got a spoilerific review coming from Steve.

But that’s not all, oh no. Tom reviews what many are calling Tom Cruise’s worst film ever, The Mummy. What did I think of it? Does Mike Duke owe him Irish Whiskey? Walt is cooking up the new Jorn, Life on the Death Road in the smoker, Az has something Oikilly Doikilly brewing in the mortuary and Holy Axe Handles, Batman, as Mr. Scott remembers Adam West for us.

Welcome to Volume 3 Chapter 4 of The Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Your host, writer Tom Clark, is joined by our panel of horror and metal experts at Project Entertainment Network: Mr. Scott, Smokin Walt Ball and Azriel Mordecai.

This week we’re fantasizing, and get your mind out of the gutter. We’re talking about the properties that we love that we’d like to see adapted to the silver or small screen… or vice versa… Is there a short story, novel, song or album that you think deserves a live action or animated adaptation? Well, we bet that at least one of ours’ will crossover with you.

But that’s not all. I’ll tell you why you should or shouldn’t see Wonder Woman. Walt reviews the latest from Danzig, is it as bad as we thought it was going to be? Or does it bring us back to the Danzig of old? Walt will let us know. Az has some sisters of mercy in the Mortuary and Mr. Scott gives the axe to a lawyer that jumped the shark this week, along with her client. And who’s our very first NECROCAST-HOLE? He’s a legend that gets more than the axe, and her deserves it.

Welcome to Volume 3 chapter 3 of The Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’ podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Hosts Tom Clark & Mr. Scott are in the drivers seat this Memorial Day week, as we present a very special chapter, featuring Caleb McLaughlin & Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things and their panel at Megacon in Orlando this past weekend. Caleb and Gaten play Lucas and Dustin on the show. The busy boys talk about their young careers, how Stranger Things has changed their lives and tell us what’s to come. Or do they?

Steve Mesa from our sister podcast, The Curtain Jerkers, visited the convention and was able to grab us the audio from it! It’s a special preview of things to come in Stranger Things season 2 at the Necrocasticon, and you can only hear it on Project Entertainment Network.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 2

Welcome to Volume 2 Chapter 2 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal topics with a common connection.

This week usual host and moderator, Tom Clark is off, but Mr. Scott has stepped up to the plate and boldly takes us where our panelists have gone… the first time?

That’s right, on the heels of Scott seeing Metallica for the first time, we recollect our first times seeing horror and metal, either in the theater or on the stage, respectively. Scott, Smoking Walt Ball and Azriel Mordecai bring in our friend Axel Lennox to help out with the discussion.

Do we share some of the same experiences as you? Listen to find out.

But that’s not all.

Walt reaches into infinity in the Smoker as he reviews the latest from Dragonforce, Az has Alien Sex Fiends in the mortuary and Scott gives the axe to a sicko in metal that deserves it.

Necrocasticon Volume 3 Chapter 1

Welcome to Volume 3 Chapter 1 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s Podcast the blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Your host, writer and podcaster Tom Clark, is casting aside token monickers this season, along with our panel of horror and metal experts at Project Entertainment Network.

The former Maxx Axe, aka Mr. Scott Groverston, Super Fan Boy Smoking Walt Ball has finally climbed out of hell and Azriel Mordecai is still Az, because, well, that’s his legal name.

We’re starting off our third season by getting back to our roots here at the Necrocasticon, streamlining things with a fine tooth, razor sharp comb. We’re about commonalities between specific genre media properties, so this week we’re blending together 3 of them as we talk about the ALIEN film franchise, the career of Glenn Danzig and the art of HR Geiger.

How do they all link together?

We’ll tell you how, among other things as we talk about the past, present and future of what are, without a doubt, fixtures in pop culture, as well as the horror or metal genres.

But that’s not all.

Walt reviews more Life of Agony, Az gets violent in the mortuary with 5 Caskets to Cairo and Scott gives the Axe Handle to a surprising victim that very much deserves it.

Necrocasticon Volume 2 Chapter 50

Welcome to volume 2 chapter 50 of the Necrocasticon, Project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties with a common connection.

Your host is writer and podcaster Token Tom Clark and with him, as always, is our panel of horror and metal experts. Maxx Axe, smoking Walt Hades and Azriel Mordecai are getting poetic this week and digging into the creepiness that was Edgar Allan Poe.

Well, more specifically, his crime opus, Murder in the Rue Morgue, a classic tale of horror, intrigue and murder. The tale has inspired film makers and musicians alike, from Vincent Price to Iron Maiden.

Join, won’t you, as we dig into the this classic tale of terror?

But that’s not all.

Walt reviews Night Demon’s latest effort, Tom tells you if you should bother reading Christopher Golden’s newest adventure into horror, Ararat, Az resurrects Divinity Destroyed in the Mortuary and Maxx gives the axe to another sorry son of a bitch. Who is it? Listen and find out.

Necrocasticon Volume 2 Chapter 49

Welcome to Volume 2 Chapter 49 of The Necrocasticon, project Entertainment Network’s podcast that blends horror and heavy metal properties wit a common connection. Your host, writer Token Tom Clark is joined by our panel of metal and horror experts at Project Entertainment Network, Maxx Axe and Smoking Walt Hades. Absent this week, though, is our resident creepy guy, Azriel Mordecai, who’s under the weather. This week we’re about the short and sweet and the preview side of things. How so you ask? Horror films, and sometimes novels, often rely on short films, called trailers, basically 2 minute or so long previews of the flicks, to create an interest in the final product. Many trailers are classic and have stood the test of time, while some others gave too much away and killed a film at the box office. Metal and music in the 80’s was the same way, with the advent of the popularity of music videos, which at one time were solely used by record companies to sell an artist. Then came MTV. Walt tells us what he’s been watching in his 365 movies in 365 Days project, Maxx Gives someone the axe in his new segment, and Az is in the mortuary sleeping as he recovers from being sick, so shhhh. We won’t go there this week. Or will we?
